    Import Resource

    This article covers the Import Resource page which gives users the ability to create one or multiple Resources using an Excel template. The import supports Resource Templates, with Resource specific information such as Employment Date, Dimensions, Posting Groups, and Time and Expense Sheet Configurations. Time Periods and Resource Capacity can be created by populating the End Date field in the corresponding columns.

    To create a new Resource Import:

    1. Navigate to the Import Resource by using the Search feature, or navigate to the Role Center > Processing > Resources > Import Resources.

    2. Select New from the ribbon.

    Field Name Description
    New Create a new entry.
    Edit List Make changes on the page.
    Delete Delete the selected row.

    Create Import Template:Exports an Excel Template with column headers for importing Resources.
    Import Resources: Import Resources data from an Excel file into the grid.
    Create Resources: Creates the Resource records from the lines in the grid.

    Grid

    Field Name Description
    Record ID Specifies the system assigned number for the line of data.
    Resource No. Specifies a unique identifier for the Resource. The field is either filled automatically from a defined Number Series, or you can enter the number if manual number entry has been enabled.
    Name Specifies the Name of the Resource.
    Title Specifies a Title for the Resource.
    Email Specifies a Email for the Resource.
    Address Specifies a Address for the Resource.
    Zip Code Specifies the Zip Code. City, State, and Country/Region will be updated on the Resource based on the Zip Code.
    Phone Number Specifies a Phone Number for the Resource.
    Employment Date Specifies the date when the Resource began to work for the company. This is the base date for creating Time Periods and Capacity.
    Resource Template Specifies the Resource Template to apply. Dimensions and default values will be inherited from the template.
    Expense Vendor No. Specifies the Expense Vendor Number for the Resource. For more information, see: [Resource Card > Expense Sheet FastTab
    Copy Prices From Resource Specifies the Resource to copy prices from.
    Copy Permissions From Resource Specifies the Resource to copy Project Permissions from.
    Time Periods End Date If populated, create Timesheet Periods from the Employment Date through this date based on the Timesheet Configuration of the Resource.
    Capacity Entries End Date If populated, create Capacity entries from the Employment Date through this date based on the Norm Time of the Timesheet Configuration.
    Error Message Displays any error that occurred when attempting to create the Resource.
