    Subscription Description Templates

    Descriptions on posted lines can automatically extend with additional information.

    To create a new Template

    By default a few common Templates are available. However, users may add as many as needed.

    1. From the Subscription Order header > Description Template, select the drop-down, then click Select from full list. Alternately, choose the Choose the search icon, enter Subscription Description Templates, and then choose the related link.

    2. Choose New.

      Field Name Description
      Code Specifies a unique identifier for the Template.
      Template Specifies the parameters for the Template.
      %1 = Description
      %2 = Start date
      %3 = End date
      %4 = Automatic period description
      %5 = Order reference
      Description Specifies information about the Template.
      Default Specifies, if selected, that the Template is the default Template for new Subscription Orders.
    3. To automatically insert related values in the resulting Description text, enter the following placeholders in the Template field .

      Placeholder Value
      %1 Content of the Description field on the Subscription Line
      %2 The first date of the period
      %3 The last date of the period
      %4 A automatic description of the period. Example: January 2024 - March 2024
      %5 Content of the Reference field on the Subscription Header
      Tip

      For example, if you write %1, %5, %4, then the resulting description will contain the following text: Services, Contract #1234, January 2024 - March 2024.

    To set a Default Template for new Orders

    1. From the Subscription Order header > Description Template, select the drop-down, then click Select from full list. Alternately, use the Search icon, enter Subscription Description Templates, and then choose the related link.

    2. On the line for the Template that should be used as default, check the Default checkbox.
